Job summary

Fisher Human Resource Consultancy seeks a Poultry Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership across breeding, production, health, and nutrition. The role focuses on optimizing flock performance, welfare, and regulatory compliance while supporting research and continuous improvement initiatives.

The SME will guide operational strategies, contribute to facility expansion planning, and collaborate with veterinarians to implement vaccination and disease surveillance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field required; master’s preferred.
• 8–12 years in poultry production, breeding, hatchery, or farm management.
• Experience in breeder/broiler/layer operations with leadership.

The Poultry Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides technical leadership and specialist expertise in poultry breeding, production, health, nutrition, biosecurity, and operational best practices. The role is responsible for developing and implementing poultry management programs, optimizing flock performance, improving productivity, ensuring animal welfare and regulatory compliance, and supporting research, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives. 1. Technical Leadership

• Provide expert technical guidance on poultry breeding, hatchery, broiler, and/or layer production operations.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve flock productivity, health, and overall farm performance.
• Advise management on operational strategies, technology adoption, and production optimization.
• Support the planning and expansion of poultry production facilities and breeding programs.

2. Poultry Production & Breeding

• Develop breeding, incubation, brooding, grow-out, and production management programs.
• Monitor key production indicators, including fertility, hatchability, feed conversion ratio (FCR), mortality, growth rates, and egg production.
• Recommend improvements to flock management, genetics, housing, and environmental controls.
• Optimize production schedules and flock performance throughout the production cycle.

3. Animal Health & Biosecurity

• Develop and oversee biosecurity programs to prevent disease outbreaks.
• Collaborate with veterinarians to establish vaccination, disease surveillance, and treatment programs.
• Analyze health trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and veterinary regulations.

4. Nutrition & Feeding

• Provide technical recommendations on poultry nutrition and feeding strategies.
• Evaluate feed quality, formulations, and consumption patterns.
• Work with nutritionists and suppliers to optimize feed efficiency and production performance.

5. Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical guidelines.
• Lead root cause analyses for production issues and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or a related field.
• A master's degree or specialized certification in Poultry Production, Animal Nutrition, or Veterinary Science is preferred.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in poultry production, breeding, hatchery operations, or commercial poultry farm management.
• Experience in breeder, broiler, or layer operations, with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience in developing production strategies, biosecurity programs, and performance improvement initiatives.
