Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist HVAC Engineer to lead design, engineering and execution of HVAC systems for oil and gas facilities in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes and project specs to deliver safe, reliable and energy-efficient solutions across all project phases.

The role requires leading engineering teams, coordinating with multidisciplinary groups, and providing technical support during installation, testing and commissioning

Qualifications

• A minimum of 15 years experience in HVAC Engineering.
• Experience as Lead Engineer (minimum 5 years).
• Familiar with ADNOC specifications and EPC projects.
• Proficient in using HAP/Carrier, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, DW144 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC system design for control rooms, substations, telecom shelters, and buildings.
• Lead HVAC system design for hazardous area ventilation systems.
• Lead HVAC design for pressurization and smoke management systems.
• Perform heat load calculations and equipment sizing (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhausts).
• Review vendor documents and approve HVAC submittals.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil).
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning and site issues.

Job Objective

Lead the design, engineering, and execution of HVAC systems for oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and project specifications. The role is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and energy-efficient HVAC solutions across all project phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC system design for control rooms, substations, telecom shelters, and buildings
• Lead HVAC system design for hazardous area ventilation systems
• Lead HVAC system design for pressurization and smoke management systems
• Perform heat load calculations (HAP/Carrier software or equivalent)
• Perform equipment sizing and selection (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems)
• Develop and review HVAC layouts, ducting drawings, and schematics
• Develop and review material requisitions (MR), technical bid evaluations (TBE)
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC engineering standards
• Ensure compliance with international codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO)
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil)
• Review vendor documents and approve HVAC equipment submittals
• Support procurement and ensure timely material delivery
• Provide technical support during installation
• Provide technical support during testing & commissioning
• Provide technical support during resolving site technical issues and ensuring design integrity
• Ensure HVAC systems meet hazardous area classification requirements
• Ensure HVAC systems meet fire & gas system integration
• Promote HSE policies aligned with ADNOC guidelines
• Participate in HAZOP / HAZID studies
• Participate in design reviews and safety audits
• Participate in lead and mentor HVAC engineers and designers
• Participate in interface with client representatives (ADNOC PMC team)
• Participate in manage engineering deliverables, schedules, and manpower
• Participate in ensure quality assurance and control of HVAC deliverables
• Participate in oversee HVAC system pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Participate in validate performance testing (TAB – Testing, Adjusting & Balancing)
• Ensure documentation as-built drawings
• Ensure documentation O&M manuals
• Ensure documentation commissioning reports
