Job summary

Wood is recruiting for Lead Instrument Engineer for the ADNOC Offshore US LTDP project in Abu Dhabi. You will provide technical leadership for instrumentation design, ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, and coordinate with EPC contractors and IPMT teams to meet project timelines.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, 15+ years in offshore oil and gas, PMC experience, and a track record on large Middle East projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas upstream offshore.
  • PMC experience is highly preferable.
  • Large projects experience in Middle East / GCC, including Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in all Instrumentation design.
  • Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
  • Coordinate with EPC Contractor to complete instrumentation design within the project timeframe.
  • Collaborate with IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering/Operation to resolve technical issues and ensure quality.
  • Perform regular technical reviews of Instrumentation deliverables for compliance and quality.
  • Coordinate overall Instrumentation Engineering within IPMT team.
  • Review and approve Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work for ADNOC standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in all Instrumentation design

  • Coordinate, Monitor and handle Instrumentation design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
  • Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity etc.
  • Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Instrumentation Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants/contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure integration of overall Instrumentation Engineering. Overall coordination within IPMT Instrumentation Engineering Team
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant’s & EPC Contractor’s Instrumentation Engineering design activities
  • Review and approval of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
  • Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
  • Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
  • Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
  • Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.
  • Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
  • Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
  • Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning
  • Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
  • Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
  • Interface regularly with Contractor’s Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as and when required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industryupstream offshore industry working for competitors’ organization such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, Saipem
  • PMC experience is high preferable
  • Large projects experience is must. Middle East / GCC experience on projects with Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO, etc. is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
