Job summary

Pliant, a European fintech, is seeking a Senior Platform Infrastructure & Engineering leader to own Platform Core's Terraform roadmap and multi-account AWS setup. You will run an internal platform with guardrails, drive security-aligned IAM and networking, and oversee a migration from ECS/Fargate to Kubernetes.

You will hire and coach engineers, partner with Security Engineering, and help scale the team as the company grows, with flexibility to work remotely.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in software or infrastructure engineering.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience.
• Hands-on depth with Terraform, multi-account AWS, and container or serverless compute.
• Experience running infrastructure as an internal platform.
• Proven track record of hiring and developing engineers.
• Experience with observability tools like Datadog at scale.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for Platform Core's Terraform infrastructure, multi-account AWS setup, and IAM/networking foundations.
• Run Platform Core as an internal product, ensuring guardrails and policies help other teams.
• Collaborate closely with Security Engineering to build access controls and compliance into the platform.
• Steer the ongoing compute migration from ECS/Fargate to Kubernetes.
• Manage and grow the team through 1:1s, hiring, and performance development.
• Coordinate with the future SRE team and other platform functions as the team scales.
