Job summary

Client of Discovered MENA invites an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the technical implementation and evolution of a massive customer-facing cloud platform in Abu Dhabi. You will drive Kubernetes as a Service and Managed Data Services at scale, partnering with global enterprise clients to design and operate resilient cloud services.

Responsibilities include building production-grade operators for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka and Redis, ensuring security, multi-tenant isolation,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps/SRE roles supporting large-scale cloud services.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and underlying cloud infrastructure frameworks (OpenStack).
• Solid foundation in Linux internals, networking, DNS, PKI, load balancing, and storage integrations (Cinder, Manila, S3-compatible).

• Architect managed PostgreSQL MySQL Kafka and Redis services using production-grade operators e.g. Cloud Native PG Crunchy Data Zalando Percona Strimzi
• Own the day-to-day reliability backup architectures pgBackRest Sentinel disaster recovery scaling and connection pooling protocols
• Implement multi-tenant operational security including mTLS automated credential rotation IAM integration secure parameter baselines and image vulnerability management
