Job summary

JAMS HR Solutions in Dubai is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily preventive and predictive maintenance, optimize equipment uptime and ensure strict HSE compliance. The role requires leadership of maintenance teams, strong problem solving, and coordination with contractors on shutdowns and upgrades.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background, 7+ years of maintenance leadership experience, and fluency in English; Arabic/Hindi is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a maintenance engineer or supervisor.
• English proficiency mandatory; fluency in Arabic or Hindi is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Enforce daily safety protocols to ensure secure operation of personnel and machines.
• Supervise preventive, predictive, and periodic maintenance plans and schedules.
• Lead troubleshooting during breakdowns to identify root causes and implement rapid solutions.
• Coordinate on-site activities during plant shutdowns, major equipment replacements, and engineering upgrades.
• Monitor spare parts inventory to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
• Prepare technical requisitions for purchases of tools and maintenance materials.
• Control and track usage and calibration of maintenance tools and workshop equipment.
• Assign and manage manpower across shifts to balance maintenance with production targets.
• Draft scope of work for external repairs and manage contractor performance.

Job description

Job Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Plant Maintenance Supervisor will manage and oversee the daily preventive and predictive maintenance schedules of the plant. The core objective is to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime while ensuring a safe working environment in strict compliance with corporate HSE policies and procedures.

Areas of Responsibility

Safety & HSE Compliance

• Enforce daily safety protocols to ensure all maintenance personnel and machines operate securely.
• Align all floor-level maintenance activities, policies, and procedures with standard corporate HSE regulations.

Maintenance Supervision & Execution

• Supervise the execution of preventive, predictive, and periodic maintenance plans and schedules.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts during technical breakdowns to identify root causes and implement rapid solutions.
• Coordinate on-site activities during plant shutdowns, major equipment replacements, and engineering upgrade projects.

Materials & Tool Management

• Monitor critical spare parts inventory in the warehouse to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
• Prepare technical requisitions for purchases, tools, and specialized maintenance materials.
• Control and track the usage, storage, and calibration of maintenance tools and workshop equipment.

Team & Contractor Coordination

• Assign and manage manpower across shifts to balance daily maintenance needs with production targets.
• Draft the scope of work for external repairs and specialized service contractors.
• Supervise contractor performance and conduct formal acceptance testing upon work completion.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of working experience as a maintenance engineer or supervisor.
• Language Skills: English proficiency is mandatory. Fluency in Arabic or Hindi is a strong advantage.

Technical Competencies & Knowledge

• Sector Background: Solid experience in the heavy manufacturing industry (Ready-Mix concrete environment preferred).
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in industrial refrigeration (e.g., ice plants, chillers) and control/instrumentation systems.
• Software & Systems: Proven experience utilizing a CMMS / ERP system (SAP preferred).
• Methodologies: Solid grounding in preventive/predictive maintenance and Lean Manufacturing principles.
