Leading Civil & Infrastructure Contractor in Abu Dhabi seeks a Planning Engineer to develop and manage detailed project programmes for wet utilities and infrastructure, from initial planning through to completion. You will work closely with project managers, site engineers and subcontractors to ensure robust planning, resource loading, critical path analysis and timely project delivery.

Proficiency in Primavera P6 is required; UAE project experience is essential and candidates based in Abu Dhabi

Qualifications

• Degree required: BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Proven planning experience on infrastructure projects.
• UAE project experience preferred.

About the Company:

Our client is an established infrastructure contractor specialising in water, sewage and associated civil infrastructure works across the UAE. Due to continued company growth, new projects and contract awards, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planning Engineer to support their wet utilities and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.

Position Overview:

This position requires an established Planning Engineer with strong experience across wet utilities and infrastructure projects, alongside the ability to independently develop and manage project programmes using Primavera P6. Working closely with project managers, engineering and construction teams, you will take responsibility for developing project schedules, monitoring progress and ensuring effective planning and programme control throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programme Development: Independently develop comprehensive project programmes from initial planning through to completion using Primavera P6.
• Planning & Scheduling: Establish project timelines, construction sequences, resource requirements and critical path activities.
• Progress Monitoring: Monitor actual progress against approved programmes, identify delays and recommend corrective actions to maintain project schedules.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare progress reports, programme updates, look-ahead schedules and delay analysis for project management and client review.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors and relevant authorities to ensure effective planning and coordination of project activities.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Established experience as a Planning Engineer on infrastructure projects, with specific experience in wet utilities.
• Previous UAE project experience is essential.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, with proven ability to independently develop complete project programmes rather than solely updating existing schedules.
• Formal Primavera P6 training or certification is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path analysis, progress monitoring and project reporting.
• Previous experience working with municipalities and relevant authorities.
• Abu Dhabi-based candidates preferred, although candidates elsewhere in the UAE will be considered.
