Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Planning Engineer (UAE National) to join our Abu Dhabi team on-site, supporting stormwater advisory programs with scheduling, cost reporting, and project controls. The role collaborates with engineers and PMO staff to keep schedules current and budgets on track, while fostering a disciplined PMO environment.

The position welcomes fresh graduates with a civil/environmental/mechanical background and understanding of infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical) or closely related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of related work experience in project controls, planning/scheduling, or infrastructure projects.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
• Experience in UAE infrastructure sector is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain project schedules for stormwater advisory assignments using approved scheduling tools.
• Prepare schedule status reports, progress updates, and staffing/resource curves.
• Identify schedule variances and risks; assist in developing recovery or mitigation actions.
• Coordinate with engineering and PM teams to collect schedule data and ensure input accuracy.
• Assist in cost control systems and basic cost reports under guidance of senior staff.
• Prepare graphs, diagrams, and exhibits to support internal reporting.

Job Description:

Planning Engineer (UAE National) Abu Dhabi , UAE

Parsons is looking for a highly talented Planning Engineer UAE National- (Site) to join our team in the UAE! In this role, you will support our Stormwater DMT Technical Advisory Program, working on various projects to enhance stormwater networks, pumping stations, outfalls, and the overall resilience of infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Project Controls / Planning & Scheduling
  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules for stormwater advisory assignments using approved scheduling tools.
  • Support the preparation of schedule status reports, progress updates, and staffing/resource curves.
  • Help identify schedule variances and potential risks, and support senior staff in developing recovery or mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project management teams to collect schedule-related data and ensure accuracy of inputs.
• Cost Engineering Support
  • Assist in preparing and updating cost control systems and basic cost reports under the guidance of senior project controls staff.
  • Perform arithmetic and consistency checks on cost reporting documentation and other project controls deliverables.
  • Prepare graphs, diagrams, and exhibits to support internal reporting and presentations.
• General Project Controls
  • Support the implementation of project controls procedures and templates in alignment with Parsons and client requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of schedules, reports, and project controls documentation.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical ), Construction Management , or a closely related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 0-1 years of related work experience in project controls, planning/scheduling, or construction/infrastructure projects.
• Fresh graduate are welcome to apply.
• Experience in the UAE infrastructure sector (stormwater, water, wastewater, or municipal services) is an advantage but not mandatory.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Basic engineering knowledge in civil or a related field; understanding of infrastructure or water/stormwater projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with planning and project controls concepts (e.g., schedules, progress measurement, basic cost reporting).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; attention to detail in checking and compiling data.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and in a structured PMO/PMC environment.
