The Planning Engineer will provide detailed schedule oversight across the project lifecycle. A major focus will be reviewing the Contractor 's baseline and updated programmes, validating reported progress against actual site conditions, and identifying schedule risks early enough for the project team to evaluate appropriate mitigation measures.
The position requires the ability to convert detailed programme information into clear assessments of project status. This includes evaluating planned versus actual progress, determining critical and near-critical activities, assessing available float and constraints, and identifying potential schedule impacts. The Planning Engineer will also support short-term forecasting through look-ahead programmes and maintain dashboards and performance indicators that provide the project team with an accurate view of progress.
The role supports the evaluation of Extension of Time submissions and other time-related claims. Responsibilities include reviewing delay events, Contractor programme updates, recovery schedules, mitigation proposals, and time impact analyses to understand their potential effect on project completion.
The role requires strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel, supported by practical understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling, resource-loaded programmes, schedule logic, progress measurement, programme updates, look-ahead planning, recovery programmes, delay analysis, time impact analysis, dashboards, and project performance reporting.
