Stantec is looking to recruit Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai.

The Planning Engineer will be working on projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, irrigation network,wastewater networks and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction monitoring.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Technical Delivery

  • Planning Engineer will be to oversee and coordinate the planning and scheduling of various projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time.
  • Creating detailed project plans, identifying potential risks or issues, and developing contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Working closely with resident Engineer, clients, and contractors to define project timelines and setting goals, objectives, and milestones.
  • Monitoring the day-by-day progress of projects, including updating project plans, tracking schedules and timelines, and reporting to senior management. providing regular financial reports and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Support project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques Identifying non-conforming materials, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses. Assist in project administration including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
  • Develop the Project execution plan considering the proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the Project with support of RE/ARE.
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction. Tracking and analyzing field results is another key responsibility. Planning engineer continually makes comparisons between planned progress and actual progress and reports any differences to Resident Engineer.

Collaboration and working as part of a team.

  • Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

Client Service Management

  • Internal and external client liaison
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
  • Experience in utility diversions and management.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
  • Construction planning management.
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer and 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects.
  • Certifications in Primavera Software package
  • Experience in DM infrastructure projects are advantage.
