Job summary

Azizi Developments is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to develop and control schedules for aluminum factory projects. The role interfaces with Design, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, Logistics, and Project teams to ensure delivery aligns with plans.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in planning or project controls, with Primavera P6 or MS Project proficiency and strong knowledge of production planning and progress monitoring. On-site work in Dubai is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Planning or Project Controls.
  • preferably within Aluminum, Façade, Curtain Wall, Glazing, Cladding, or Manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, project scheduling, and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain detailed project and production schedules for aluminum and façade works.
  • Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, recovery plans, and progress monitoring reports.
  • Break down project requirements into design, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities.
  • Establish activity durations, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Update schedules regularly based on actual progress and changing project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production to develop fabrication and production schedules.
  • Monitor production capacity, manpower, machinery, and material availability.
  • Prepare production forecasts and identify potential capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate production priorities based on project deadlines and delivery schedules.
  • Track fabrication progress, including cutting, machining, assembly, glazing, packing, and dispatch.
  • Monitor actual progress against baseline schedules and identify delays or risks.
  • Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management.
  • Track critical activities and escalate issues impacting completion.
  • Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Site teams to obtain progress updates.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to develop, monitor, and control project and production schedules for the Aluminum Factory. The role will coordinate with Design, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, Logistics, and Project teams to ensure aluminum and façade works are completed in line with approved schedules, priorities, and project delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain detailed project and production schedules for aluminum and façade works.
  • Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, recovery plans, and progress monitoring reports.
  • Break down project requirements into design, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities.
  • Establish activity durations, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Update schedules regularly based on actual progress and changing project requirements.
Production Planning
  • Coordinate with the Production team to develop fabrication and production schedules.
  • Monitor production capacity, manpower, machinery, and material availability against planned requirements.
  • Prepare production forecasts and identify potential capacity constraints or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate production priorities based on project deadlines and delivery schedules.
  • Track fabrication progress, including cutting, machining, assembly, glazing, packing, and dispatch.
Project Monitoring & Control
  • Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify delays or potential risks.
  • Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective or recovery actions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and project teams.
  • Track critical activities and ensure timely escalation of issues that may impact project completion.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to obtain accurate progress updates and supporting data.
Coordination
  • Coordinate with Design and Engineering teams to track shop drawings, material approvals, and technical submissions.
  • Follow up with Procurement and Suppliers regarding long-lead materials and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with Project and Site teams to align factory production, material delivery, and installation requirements.
  • Work closely with Logistics and Stores teams to ensure timely dispatch of completed materials.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare dashboards, progress curves, S-curves, histograms, and other planning reports.
  • Monitor planned versus actual progress and prepare variance analysis.
  • Support management with project forecasts and resource planning.
  • Maintain accurate planning records, trackers, and reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Planning or Project Controls, preferably within the Aluminum, Façade, Curtain Wall, Glazing, Cladding, or Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong experience in developing and monitoring project and production schedules.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, project scheduling, critical path analysis, and progress monitoring.
  • Experience in preparing S-curves, histograms, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports.
  • Good understanding of aluminum fabrication and façade project workflows is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Design, Procurement, Production, Factory, and Site teams.
