Job summary

Al Jomaih Energy & Water (AEW) in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineer for a greenfield CCGT project. The role covers design through construction and operation, located inland near Abu Dhabi with a 50 km north-east site. Expected duration is approximately 3 to 4 months.

The successful candidate will oversee piping systems, ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate interfaces with civil, mechanical and electrical teams, reporting to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, piping engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of proven experience as a piping mechanical engineer in power or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of turbine systems, HRSG, BOP, cooling water systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review EPC contractor piping design deliverables (isometrics, GA drawings, stress analysis, material specs).
• Ensure design compliance with project codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, EN).
• Validate pipe supports, routing, and interfaces with equipment and structures.
• Supervise piping fabrication and on-site erection activities.
• Review method statements and ITPs; participate in inspections and testing (hydrotests, NDT).
• Maintain documentation and support project close-out and commissioning readiness.
