Piping Construction Specialist – Offshore Projects

Job summary

Penspen is urgently looking to hire for Specialist Engineer - Onshore Construction (Piping) for one of our Offshore PMC projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing piping construction activities and interfacing with EPCs and client representatives.

Minimum 15+ years of experience in offshore piping construction, with ADNOC offshore experience preferred. Candidates must be able to work in challenging offshore environments and extended rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Piping Engineering.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience; at least 5 years in a similar position for major oil & gas offshore projects.
• Experience from PMC/EPC Mechanical/Piping Construction background.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, NORSOK.
• ADNOC Offshore experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and extended rotations.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction oversight and execution support for piping activities offshore facilities, topsides, pipelines, and brownfield/greenfield modifications.
• Prepare and review piping construction work packs, method statements, and job cards.
• Conduct constructability reviews and ensure design deliverables are construction-ready.
• Interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, support details, and vendor documents.
• Provide technical solutions to site queries (SQs), technical queries (TQs), and interface issues.
• Supervise piping construction activities at onshore yards and during offshore mobilization.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, EPC contractors, and client representatives.
• Maintain accurate records of construction progress, deviations, and change requests.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and mechanical completion dossiers.
