Job summary

Penspen is urgently seeking a Lead Construction Engineer (Mechanical/ Piping) for a prestigious UAE PMC project. The role demands 15-20+ years in offshore oil & gas construction within an EPC setting, with strong piping, topside installation, and PMC experience.

You will lead offshore teams, ensure schedules and budgets are met, and maintain stringent HSE standards while coordinating with client representatives.

Qualifications

• 15-20+ years of offshore oil & gas construction experience in EPC environments.
• Strong experience in piping erection, mechanical equipment installation, and topside construction.
• PMC experience and ADNOC offshore exposure are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage offshore construction teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee installation, hookup, and commissioning of offshore facilities such as platforms, pipelines, and subsea structures.
• Ensure construction activities align with schedules, budgets, and technical specs.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve construction-related challenges and ensure engineering standards are met.
• Review and approve construction drawings, procedures, and method statements.
• Enforce strict adherence to HSE standards during offshore operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for high-risk activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives to align goals.
• Facilitate daily briefings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement hookup strategies and offshore construction plans.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to address delays or unforeseen issues.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Minimum 15-20+ years of extensive offshore oil and gas construction experience, especially in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment
• Strong experience in piping erection, mechanical equipment installation, and topside construction
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with regional regulations and offshore construction practices.
• PMC experience will be preferred
• Previous experience in the ADNOC Offshore projects in the similar role would be an added advantage.
