Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy with Master of Science in Physiotherapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychological, and functional needs to develop personalized therapy plans.
• Deliver hands-on physiotherapy across musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative, and complex rehabilitation cases.
• Set clear patient-centered goals and work with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams to achieve outcomes.
• Continuously adjust treatment plans based on patient response and recovery trends, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Use evidence-based practice and outcome measures to track progress and uphold clinical standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated rehabilitation care.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, post-treatment care, and long-term mobility strategies.
• Monitor clinical risk factors and prioritize safety at every stage of therapy.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation, billing, and reporting per healthcare regulations.
• Contribute to service development, clinical education of students or junior staff, and quality improvement activities.

This role is responsible for evaluating patients referred to physiotherapy, organizing and implementing individualized therapeutic programs and monitoring the patients progress and response to treatment. This role would include the ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding that is relevant to their area of practice and underpins their individual scope of practice, recognize their role and responsibilities within the patients plan of care, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology, evidence-based practice, and physiotherapy practice of service users through the life span.

• Continuously adjust and progress treatment plans based on patient response and recovery trends - keeping therapy both safe and effective.


• Use evidence-based practice and outcome measures to track patient progress and contribute to high standards of clinical excellence.


• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care across the rehabilitation continuum.


• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, post-treatment care, and strategies for long-term mobility and wellness.


• Monitor for clinical risk factors and prioritize safety at every stage of the therapy process.


• Ensure timely and accurate documentation, billing, and reporting in line with internal and external healthcare regulations.


• Contribute to service development initiatives, support clinical education of students or junior staff, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy or Direct entry of a recognized program with attainment of Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy.


• Minimum of 4 years of experience post qualification in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.


• Completion of specialty qualification as per the recognized specialty certificate (Department of Health guidelines).


• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, and pre and post-operative rehabilitation, relevant procedures and current best practices.
