Job summary

Amana Healthcare in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Operating Theatre Nurse to provide perioperative care across the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification clinical nursing experience, including operating theatre/perioperative experience.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA nursing licensure and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; ACLS or perioperative nursing certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, infection prevention and control standards, surgical safety protocols, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Deliver perioperative nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
• Prepare and maintain the operating theatre environment and equipment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality surgical care.
• Monitor and document patients' clinical status and responses to treatment; escalate concerns as needed.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, surgical safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development through audits and education.
• Act as a role model by mentoring staff and students and supporting a collaborative care environment.
