Job summary

Black Pearl Consult in Dubai, UAE, seeks a highly skilled Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join a leading healthcare organization. The role requires two years of perioperative nursing experience and a valid nursing license with DHA eligibility.

You will provide safe, evidence-based perioperative care, support sterile technique, assist surgeons and anesthesiologists, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety across pre-, intra-, and post-operative stages.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent degree.
• Min 2 years of OR/perioperative nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid nursing license from home country with DHA eligibility for Dubai.
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, aseptic technique, and infection prevention.
• Experience as a scrub and/or circulating nurse is required.
• Willing to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, in Dubai UAE.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, supplies and medications per procedure plan.
• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and verify consent, allergies, and documentation.
• Assist surgical team while maintaining sterile environment and safety.
• Perform scrub and circulating nurse duties including instrument handling and counts.
• Maintain infection control and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and anesthesia response; escalate concerns as needed.
• Assist anesthesiologists and surgeons during induction and positioning.
• Ensure accurate instrument and material counts before, during, and after procedures.
• Document care, procedures and intraoperative events accurately.
• Transfer patients safely to recovery and other units when appropriate.
• Comply with hospital policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. The OR Nurse will provide safe efficient and evidence-based nursing care throughout the surgical process ensuring patient safety effective infection control and smooth coordination of surgical procedures. The ideal candidate should have strong perioperative nursing experience excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before during and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room surgical instruments equipment supplies and medications according to the planned procedure.
• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and verify patient identification surgical procedure consent allergies and other required documentation.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by maintaining a safe sterile and well-organized operating environment.
• Perform scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities as required including instrument handling surgical counts specimen management and documentation.
• Maintain strict aseptic and infection prevention practices throughout surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients vital signs clinical condition and response to anesthesia and surgical interventions escalating any concerns promptly.
• Assist anesthesiologists and surgeons during induction positioning surgical procedures and emergency interventions.
• Ensure accurate counting and reconciliation of surgical instruments needles sponges and other materials before during and after procedures.
• Handle label document and appropriately transfer surgical specimens in accordance with hospital policies.
• Operate and monitor surgical equipment and assist with the preparation of specialized equipment required for different procedures.
• Provide post-operative nursing care and safely transfer patients to the recovery area or other appropriate clinical unit.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care surgical procedures medications equipment and intraoperative events.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies surgical safety standards infection control requirements and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Participate in surgical safety briefings quality improvement initiatives clinical audits case reviews and continuing professional development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room / Perioperative Nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid nursing license from the home country.
• Eligibility for nursing license in Dubai (DHA eligibility license or willingness to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices surgical procedures aseptic technique and infection prevention.
• Experience working as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse is required.
• Excellent clinical judgment attention to detail communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure surgical environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is an advantage.
• Experience in a tertiary care or internationally accredited hospital is an advantage.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights weekends and public holidays as required.
• Willing to work in Dubai UAE.
