Job summary

Black Pearl Consult in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Consultant in Pediatric Otolaryngology / ENT to lead clinical care and supervise junior medical staff within a JCI-enabled hospital environment.

The ideal candidate holds a MBBS with pediatric ENT specialization, board certification (American Board / UK CCT / Australian Board or equivalent), and a minimum of 5 years post-specialization experience, with DOH license or eligibility and yearly CME proof.

Qualifications

• Tier 1 qualification.
• Current national license or equivalent.
• Certified proof of yearly CME.
• MBBS or equivalent with Pediatric Otolaryngology specialization.
• American Board / UK CCT / Australian Board / Western Board or equivalent in Pediatric Otolaryngology.

We are currently looking for a ConsultantPediatric Otolaryngology / ENT Consultant for one of the leading healthcare facilities in the UAE.

ConsultantPediatric Otolaryngology / ENT Consultant

Managerial Task:

• Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
• Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
• Participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
• Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
• Attends Divisional meetings as required
• Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
• Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief

Technical Task:

• Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty. The Consultant Physician’s clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide
• Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices
• Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources
• Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice
• Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
• Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
• Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
• Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care for individual patients
• Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
• Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and patients referred from other hospitals

Requirements

Qualifications:-

Qualification from Tier 1

Current national license or equivalent

Certified proof of yearly CME

Additional Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Pediatric Otolaryngology
  
• American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, any Western Board, Fellowship or additional certification in Pediatric Otolaryngology
  
• Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Pediatric Otolaryngology
  
• Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
  
• Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.
