Summary

The Pediatric ENT Consultant provides specialist diagnosis, medical and surgical management of disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck in infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves managing congenital, developmental, infectious, inflammatory, traumatic, and neoplastic conditions while addressing the unique anatomical and physiological needs of pediatric patients.

Education/Qualification
  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
      • USA: The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – (Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery)
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT) Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland,
  • Sub-Specialties: Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-sub-specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.
License
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage congenital, developmental, infectious, inflammatory, and acquired disorders of the ear, nose, throat, and head and neck in infants, children, and adolescents
  • Perform comprehensive ENT examinations and interpret diagnostic investigations, including audiological tests, endoscopy, imaging studies, and sleep studies when indicated
  • Perform pediatric ENT surgical procedures including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, tympanostomy tube insertion, airway procedures, and management of congenital head and neck abnormalities
  • Manage pediatric hearing loss, recurrent ear infections, chronic sinus disease, nasal obstruction, voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, and airway disorders
  • Evaluate and manage complex pediatric airway conditions, including laryngomalacia, subglottic stenosis, and tracheal abnormalities
  • Diagnose and treat head and neck masses, congenital cysts, salivary gland disorders, and pediatric tumors in collaboration with oncology and surgical teams
  • Provide emergency ENT care for conditions such as airway obstruction, severe infections, trauma, and foreign body removal
  • Develop individualized treatment plans including medical management, surgical intervention, hearing rehabilitation, and long‑term follow‑up
  • Provide preoperative assessment, perioperative management, and postoperative care
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, speech and language therapists, audiologists, radiologists, and other specialists in multidisciplinary care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, operative reports, and patient records
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and development of pediatric ENT protocols
  • Supervise and train residents, fellows, and junior medical staff
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
