Job summary

SEHA Health System in Abu Dhabi seeks a Pediatric Consultant in Gastroenterology to deliver specialized pediatric GI care within a multi-disciplinary team. The role requires board-certified expertise, current medical licensure, and experience with pediatric endoscopy in a tertiary setting.

Qualifications

• Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post-qualification certification in Gastroenterology from major training bodies.
• Board certifications recognized internationally (USA/Canada/UK/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand).
• Current and in‑good standing medical license to practice in country of residence.
• BLS/ACLS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric GI, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for pediatric GI conditions.
• Perform and supervise pediatric endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans (medical, nutritional, and procedural).
• Lead inpatient rounds and outpatient clinics; review and follow up on admitted patients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgeons, dietitians, radiologists, and nurses.
• Communicate clearly with families about diagnoses, options, risks and outcomes.
• Support transition of care and safe discharge with appropriate follow up.
• Engage in teaching, audits, and clinical governance activities.

ABIM – Gastroenterology Certification (USA)

FRCSC – Gastroenterology (Canada)

CCT/CCST – Gastroenterology (UK/Ireland)

FRACP – Gastroenterology (Australia/NZ)
