Job summary

NMC is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant to provide administrative and clinical support in healthcare settings. The role involves preparing clinical areas, assisting with examinations, managing records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring safety and infection control standards.

The CSA will work under the supervision of licensed professionals, support patient care, maintain confidentiality, and participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize clinical areas for patient presence, consultations and procedures.
• Provide non-interventional assistance to licensed healthcare professionals during medical examinations and treatments.
• When trained, perform basic patient care tasks under supervision.
• Ensure medical equipment is sterilized and cleaned and ready for use.
• Manage patient records, updating information and ensuring confidentiality.
• Schedule patient appointments and handle admissions/discharges, including follow-up calls.
• Monitor inventory of medical supplies and restock as needed.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients and families.
• Adhere to safety, health, and infection control procedures.
• Speak up if something isn't right.
• Maintain awareness of NMC Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in DOH/DHA/MOH/MOHAP and NMC Quality Improvement activities.
• Uphold regulatory and accreditation standards in daily practice.
• Escort patients within and between departments.
• Transport patient specimens as per policy.
• Adhere to regulator Scope of Practice.
• Escalate concerns via incident reporting system.
• Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) responsibilities.
• OSHMS compliance and use of PPE.
• Familiarize with emergency procedures and safe working practices.
• Attend OSH trainings and audits.
