Job summary

SEHA - Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. is seeking a Hospital Coder to navigate patient health records and use encoder software to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for OP/ED records. You will validate charges and ensure proper linkage of diagnoses to procedures where applicable.

You will consult with physicians and colleagues, adhere to UAE coding guidelines, and stay current with reimbursement regulations to support accurate billing and compliant coding practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle systems.
• Ability to analyze physician/provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures.
• Proficiency with encoder software and online references for code assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to outpatient/ED records and capture charges.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines for accuracy and completeness.
• Interact with physicians and other areas when additional coding information is needed.
• Utilize encoder software and coding references in code assignment.
• Assign codes per UAE regulatory guidelines; follow UAE ICD guidelines.
• Consult AHIMA/AHA references for coding standards and ethics.
