Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Dubai. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, visual acuity testing, and assessment of ocular health, to determine appropriate corrective lenses and identify eye conditions. Daily responsibilities include prescribing glasses and contact lenses, advising patients on lens options, and collaborating with the optical team to ensure accurate lens fitting and adjustments. The role also involves maintaining detailed patient records, educating patients on eye care and preventive measures, and supporting the selection of frames and lenses that meet clinical requirements and lifestyle preferences. The Optometrist will contribute to a high standard of service, uphold regulatory and ethical guidelines, and participate in continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Optometry or equivalent, with current professional licensure or eligibility to practice in Dubai as an Optometrist.
• Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams, refraction, and ocular health assessments, including use of standard diagnostic equipment.
• Experience prescribing and managing spectacles, contact lenses, and specialty lenses, with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and eye care practices in clear, accessible language.
• Ability to work collaboratively with optical retail staff and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and adherence to local regulatory standards and clinical best practices.
• Prior experience in a retail optical or clinical setting in eye care is highly beneficial; fluency in English required, additional languages are an advantage.
• Comfort with basic computer systems and electronic patient record management; willingness to participate in training and continuous learning.
