Job summary

Vertiv in United Arab Emirates is seeking a quality professional to oversee QA/QC activities, organize staff training, and manage inspection processes across incoming, in‑process, and final checks. You will maintain records, develop materials, and ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met within production operations.

The role involves coordinating with department heads, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Organize training for staff within the organization.
  • Analyze training needs in conjunction with department heads.
  • Develop individual training programmes that meet the skills gap identified through training needs assessment.
  • Plan, direct, and deliver training and development programmes, including staff inductions, to accomplish the organization’s goals.
  • Update individual training records.
  • Create training materials.
  • Maintain QA/QC records for tracking all inspection activities.
  • Perform inspection activities relating to incoming materials (e.g., copper, breakers), in‑process, final, pre‑dispatch, and dispatch inspection.
  • Ensure the conduct of verification activities for the 1st off inspection and in‑process checks on all processes.
  • Perform hourly checks on the defined critical processes to ensure quality consistency.
  • Conduct full‑time inspection focusing on the assigned area, covering 100% quality checks as per the established inspection checkpoints.
  • Support in‑process checks during the work‑in‑progress activity by production members.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarize re‑work and waste; input data into the quality database.
  • Identify issues related to quality, health and safety, and environmental non‑compliance, and make the necessary report.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, performing timely calibration, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain the company’s interest in the production schedule and fabrication quality.
  • Advise managers and supervisors on the application of industry standards with emphasis on expediting the completion of fabrication and maintaining fabrication plans.
  • Maintain QA/QC records for tracking all inspection activities and material traceability.
  • Attend QA/QC meetings and prepare meeting notes as needed.
  • Assure that site quality systems (internal audits, preventive and corrective actions, quality procedures, process control, product spec review, process capability review) are in place.
  • Assist with the preparation of quality training modules, risk assessments and standard operating procedures for all H&S and environmental activities.
  • Mentor and serve as an example to all lower‑grade production operators; use skills and knowledge to promote the quality, H&S and environmental management system.
  • Ensure daily routine tasks are completed.
  • Ensure best practice for quality, health, safety, and environmental standards are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ensure 100% PPE compliance when going out to the shopfloor.

  • Be familiar with the use of emergency equipment such as fire alarm call points and fire extinguishers.

  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by one’s acts or omissions.
  • Have knowledge of H&S policy and objectives.
