Job summary

HUMAN-AI-Z Nexus Technology in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Production Engineer to lead safe, economical operations of crude production facilities and coordinate among Production Units and other departments. The role emphasizes implementing the company HSE policy and achieving targets for oil/gas production and water injection.

The position requires conducting safety audits, maintaining procedures, and managing work permits, while ensuring compliance with ADMA OPCO policies and UAE safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Compliance of Safe Operations at the Production Facilities.
• Carries out weekly safety audits and conducts safety meetings.
• Maintain and update operating procedures, checklists and manuals.
• Implement and maintain the work permit system during rotations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and conduct routine inspections.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow HSE policies.
• Notify safety incidents to the Production Team Leader and implement corrective actions.
• Attain safe and trouble free crude production within target ranges.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and I&E for maintenance and handovers.
• Issue permits for routine/planned maintenance and use Maximo for maintenance jobs.
• Ensure log sheets and checklists are completed and signed.
• Supervise test vessels operations and ensure compliance with safety/marine regs.
• Supervise Water Injection Plant operations and monitor water quality.
• Operate control room facilities and respond to alarms and malfunctions.
• Participate in emergency drills and procedures, and conduct self-audits.
• Identify training needs and develop UAE National subordinates.

Job description

1. Job Purpose

Responsible for a safe, economical and trouble free operation and safe emergency handling of the production facilities by providing effective leadership and coordination among the Production Units and other Departments. Also responsible for implementation of the company HSE policy and Companys Oil/Gas production, Processing and Water Injection targets.

2. Principal Accountabilities

a) Safety

• Ensure Compliance of Safe Operations at the Production Facilities
• Carries out safety audit of the plant on weekly basis for any unsafe situation. Conducts regular safety meetings with subordinates
• Ensures that latest versions of all required operating procedures, check list and manuals are available in LCR and all previous versions are removed.
• Responsible for implementation and maintenance of work permit system during his job rotation
• Ensure use of personnel protective in the processing facilities. Ensures regular inspection and checks through routine checks schedule.
• Maintains good housekeeping standard and follows ADMA OPCO Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
• Notifies the details of all safety incidents on the Production facility to the Production Team Leader
• Ensure implementation of corrective actions and recommendations of safety.

b) Normal Operation

• Responsible for attaining safe and trouble free operations of the crude production from well head towers including crude oil production / separation, water injection and gas treatment / processing to meet the daily production targets.
• Ensures operating parameters remain within specified ranges during normal and emergency operation and there is no violation of equipment design limits.
• Responsible for the preparation of wellhead towers for drilling, work over, maintenance activities and co-ordinates safe handover to drilling and maintenance. Issues required handover certificates and accepts personally such facilities after the completion of such activities.
• Coordinates with Mechanical and I/E departments for routine, preventive and urgent maintenance of equipment
• Issues Hot / Cold and Entry Work Permits for all Routine / Planned Maintenance work to be carried out in Accordance with ADMA Working Procedures and Safety Regulations
• Responsible for utilizing Maximo for all maintenance jobs in his group.
• Ensures that all log sheets and checklists are being filled as per schedule and are duly signed by respective field operators.
• Represents ADMA OPCO onboard of test vessels, supervises flow testing, cleans - up unloading and bleed down operations in safe manner and carries out self-auditing and planned inspection to ensure compliance of test vessels and contracted equipment with the company’s safety and marine regulations.
• Responsible for the supervision of Water Injection Plant Operation and Preparation for Maintenance. Monitors Chemical Injection Systems and carries out some Lab Tests to ensure required Water Quality and Quantity is achieved.
• Responsible for the Operation of Gas Separation / Treatment Plants and preparation of these Plants for Maintenance Activities. Ensures and maintains the quality of products and ensures the integrity of Plant Machinery and equipment.
• Operates Control Room Facilities and the Monitoring of Field and Plant Activities. Must be able to understand and operate all Control Room Visual and Annunciation Alarms and Signals and be able to spot any malfunctions in operating facilities, initiate corrective actions when required.
• Participation in case of Emergency Drills and Emergency Procedures initiating General Alarms and the operation of various communication systems.
• Carries out a self inspection and self auditing surveys, conducts regular safety meetings with subordinates, prepares inspection lists and supervises the classification of plant equipment from hazard and risk assessment point of view and follows up inspection programmes.
• Maintains adequate level of spares and consumables to avoid field and plant unplanned shutdown and failures.
• Identifies any Training Requirements, follow up on Job Training of all subordinates with emphasis upon the development of UAE Nationals.

Other Related Duties :- As assigned by Senior Production Engineer such as :

• Writing Reports, responding to alarms and signals to spot any malfunction in operating facilities
• Ensuring adequate supplies of chemicals, spares, consumable’s and stores stock
• Training subordinates, following up Progress of UAE National Developees, Training etc.
• Assisting Supervisor in the training of Subordinates / developees. (ii) Preparing accident/incident reports. (iii) Maintaining proper housekeeping etc.
