Job summary

alfanar is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end manufacturing and related support functions in the UAE. The role focuses on achieving production targets, optimizing resource use, and ensuring safety and quality across operations.

With 12+ years in operations and a degree in Electrical Engineering, you will drive continuous improvement and coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

Job Purpose

Manage overall operational activities to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective execution of production, maintenance, quality, supply chain coordination, and resource utilization in line with business objectives, customer requirements, and company standards.

Key Accountability Areas

Operations Management

Manage day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth workflow across production, maintenance, quality, and related support functions. Ensure operational plans are executed in line with approved schedules, targets, and business priorities. Monitor operational performance and address issues affecting productivity, delivery, quality, cost, or safety. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment between operations and business requirements.

Production & Delivery Performance

Follow up on production progress to ensure output targets and delivery timelines are achieved. Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and operational capacity. Support the resolution of operational bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints. Monitor performance indicators related to productivity, efficiency, downtime, quality, safety, and cost.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure operations comply with quality standards, safety requirements, company procedures, and applicable regulations. Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper implementation of health and safety practices. Follow up on quality issues, non-conformities, and corrective actions with concerned teams. Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace discipline, and 5S practices across operational areas.

Resource & Cost Management

Manage operational resources to achieve optimal utilization and cost efficiency. Monitor operational costs and support initiatives to reduce waste, rework, downtime, and unnecessary expenses. Support budget planning and ensure operational activities are managed within approved targets. Recommend actions to improve resource planning, manpower allocation, and operational efficiency.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, workflow, productivity, and service levels. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance. Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to improve operational reliability. Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and best practices across operations.

Team Management & Reporting

Manage and guide operations teams to ensure effective performance and accountability. Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and support team development. Prepare operational reports, performance updates, and improvement recommendations for management. Communicate operational priorities, challenges, and progress to relevant stakeholders.

Role Accountability

HR Proficiency: Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management. Ability to recognize low performers and guide them to improve or release them. Ability to treat subordinates equally without any discrimination. Assessment criteria of subordinates is performance that leads to planned results. Ensure availability of delegation of authority matrix to have sufficient delegations as per company policy.

Responsibility: Must take full responsibility for his operation as per the job description and the required deliverables from this position, taking into consideration the general company guidelines. Able to anticipate problems and make the necessary proactive steps to prevent them Ability to take necessary and proper timely decisions. Delivery: Deliver the required results in timely manner with required quality and cost. Making a Tangible Difference: Must make a tangible difference to his area of operation. and exceed business expectations. Business Planning and Performance: Able to transform the corporate goals into business plans. Able to Plan, follow-up and execute those plans, whether they are annual or development plans. Monitor the plan performance and initiate action to strengthen results and take the corrective action accordingly. Provide periodic work progress reports. Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.

Organizational Development: Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans. Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment. Business Process Improvements: Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible. Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business. Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.
