Job summary

CargoX is seeking an Operations Centre Controller to monitor and coordinate its autonomous delivery fleet across the UAE. You will own fleet visibility, dispatch decisions, exception resolution, and field coordination across active zones in a hands-on, shift-based role.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in live operations or real-time environments, are calm under pressure, and excel at incident tracking and cross-team communication.

• Provide 24/7 operational coverage as part of a shift-based team.
• Coordinate dispatch to maintain delivery continuity.
• Track delivery status, vehicle movement, route progress, and incidents.
• Assess and resolve operational exceptions and escalate when needed.
• Log incidents with detailed information for rapid action by teams.
• Coordinate runners and field technicians when on-ground support is required.
• Maintain clear communication with field teams, runners, supervisors, and stakeholders.
• Prepare shift handovers, daily updates, and incident logs for clean handovers.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest SOPs and routing/product improvements.
• Ensure all operational activity is recorded per CargoX standards.

Job description

As CargoX scales its autonomous delivery fleet across the UAE, we're looking for Operations Centre Controllers to run the command center behind our live delivery operations. Our vehicles handle the driving. You handle everything they can't - the blocked drop point, the road that isn't where the map says it is, the delivery that needs a person to make a call. You will own fleet visibility, dispatch decisions, exception resolution, and field coordination across active zones.

This is a hands-on, shift-based operations role for someone who can stay calm under pressure, make sound decisions in real time, and respond quickly when operational exceptions arise.

What You'll Do

• Monitor CargoX's autonomous delivery fleet and live delivery activity from the Operations Centre - holding the picture across all active zones and spotting developing problems before they trigger an alert


• Provide 24/7 operational coverage as part of a shift-based team


• Coordinate dispatch activity and protect delivery continuity across active zones


• Track delivery status, vehicle movement, route progress, exceptions, and operational alerts


• Assess and resolve operational exceptions - decide whether a delivery can continue as planned, needs rerouting, needs on-ground support, or needs escalation, and make that call quickly


• Log incidents accurately and elevate to the relevant operations, field, or technical teams - with enough detail that the receiving team can act without coming back to you


• Coordinate runner and field technician dispatch where on-ground support is required, giving them the context before they have to ask for it


• Maintain clear communication with field teams, runners, supervisors, and internal stakeholders


• Prepare shift handovers, daily updates, incident logs, and performance reports - a clean handover is a core part of the role, not paperwork at the end of it


• Identify recurring issues and feed them back: the same exception in the same place three times is one fix, not three incidents. Your findings drive SOP changes and [routing / mapping / product] improvements


• Ensure all operational activity is recorded accurately and in line with CargoX standards

Who You Are

• Experienced in live operations and/or customer support - ride-hailing or mobility city ops, a marketplace supply desk, operations control, dispatch, logistics, fleet coordination, last-mile delivery, or a similar real-time environment [2+ years]


• Comfortable working shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotation


• Calm under pressure and able to make practical decisions in real time - including when the situation isn't covered by the playbook


• Detail-oriented, especially when tracking incidents, updates, and delivery status


• A clear communicator, written and verbal, who can coordinate across control room, field, and internal teams


• Comfortable using dashboards, tracking tools, reporting templates, and operational systems - and able to tell us where they fall short


• Reliable, organized, and disciplined with SOPs and escalation protocols, while knowing when to flag that a process no longer fits the situation


• Fluent in English. Additional languages are a practical advantage for field and runner coordination


• Motivated by working at the front edge of autonomous delivery, mobility, and last-mile logistics in the UAE
