Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join its UAE business unit, providing day-to-day mechanical engineering support for site operations to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations. The role is full-time and on-site in Sharjah, reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering support role.
• Advanced technical knowledge with industry codes and standards.
• Ability to guide designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs day to day Mechanical Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support.
• Resolves issues with site team under supervision of Operations Engineering Manager.
• Ensures asset Mechanical Engineering risks are understood and actions taken to reduce risk.
• Monitors static Mechanical Engineering KPIs and initiates corrective action as needed.
• Supports management of change and engineering queries.
• Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities for production growth.
• Writes and reviews technical documentation and SOP inputs.
