Job summary

SGS is seeking a Process Piping Inspector – Oil & Gas for on-site work in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on monitoring piping fabrication and erection, inspecting welding activities, and witnessing pressure testing in line with approved procedures and ITPs.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years of piping and welding inspection experience in Oil & Gas projects and strong knowledge of ASME codes and hydrotest procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in piping and welding inspection for Oil & Gas projects.
• Good knowledge of ASME codes.
• Good knowledge of hydrotest and pressure-testing procedures.
• Experience in piping fabrication, erection, and welding inspection.

Responsibilities

• Monitor piping fabrication and erection activities.
• Inspect welding activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
• Witness and monitor pressure testing and hydrotesting activities.
• Check welding consumables, preheat requirements, and post-weld conditions.
• Ensure all activities comply with approved drawings, applicable codes, project specifications, and ITPs.
• Review relevant inspection and testing documentation.
