Job summary

Wood, a global engineering and operations leader, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our UAE business unit in Sharjah. The role focuses on day-to-day mechanical engineering support for safe, reliable, and compliant site operations, working with the Operations Engineering Manager and site teams.

The role is full-time and on-site in Sharjah, with opportunities for rotational/remote engagement. Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree and Chartered Engineer status, plus significant

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with professional accreditation.
• Experience providing operations mechanical engineering support in field or on-site environments.
• Ability to assess risks and implement engineering solutions in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for site operations.
• Ensure mechanical risks are understood and mitigated within agreed timeframes.
• Define operating envelopes for static mechanical equipment and monitor health.
• Track KPIs and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Support Management of Change and Engineering Queries.
• Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities.
• Contribute to Site Operations Procedures with technical input.
• Provide coaching on mechanical engineering topics to client engineers.
• Prepare and review disciplinary technical documentation.
