Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United Arab Emirates seeks a General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety Specialist Professional to develop, implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs across operations. You will drive HSE performance and foster a strong safety culture on site.

You will apply in-depth HSE knowledge to provide practical solutions, support from the Centre of Expertise, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage risk through operational excellence across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor in a high-risk industry
• Degree/Diploma in Engineering/Science with HSE qualification
• Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC)
• Client-facing experience is highly regarded
• Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 in certified organizations
• Strong communication and training development/delivery skills
• Experience engaging stakeholders across disciplines in HSE programs
• Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint
• Valid non-probationary Driver’s License
• Ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis

Responsibilities

• Maintain Project HSE Plan – review and update.
• Maintain Project Emergency Preparedness Plan.
• Assist Project Manager with HSE Meetings.
• Conduct Life Saving Rules assessment.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections of the project site.
• Conduct periodic audit of HSE Operating System.
• Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Review Subcontractor HSE Plans.
• Investigate all incidents.
• Implement corrective actions from incidents.
• Prepare and report HSE statistics – hours/training/incidents.
• Implement HSE Operating Systems in the project.
