On-Site Design Coordination Lead

Job summary

ISG Middle East in Dubai is seeking an experienced engineering professional to plan, coordinate and control architectural, structural and M&E works from commencement to completion. You will ensure compliance with local standards and IFC drawings, update logs daily, and produce realistic weekly status reports.

You will liaise with design, procurement and commercial teams, address RFIs, adapt drawings for design changes, and monitor subcontractors to meet project milestones.

Responsibilities

• Study & review project documents to plan engineering according to the project program.
• Ensure compliancy with local standards and International Building Codes (IBC).
• Assist the Design Manager to plan, organize, implement, coordinate and control the construction of architectural works.
• Review engineering logs to provide accurate delivery dates.
• Liaise with the commercial team and highlight differences between IFC drawings and tender drawings.
• Coordinate with procurement to assign subcontractors/suppliers as planned.
• Prepare, back-draft, and update drawings and diagrams per project requirements.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure delivery of engineering submittals.
• Review material submittals and shop drawings to align with construction documents.
• Coordinate with all disciplines to produce coordinated drawings for construction.
• Provide solutions to field problems and address RFIs quickly.
• Control/monitor and respond to client/contractor/sub-contractor RFIs.
• Issue RFIs for missing information and arrange workshops with consultant/client.
• Ensure RFIs replies are reflected on drawings and site teams work from latest drawings.
• Keep engineering logs updated daily and reflect status in weekly reports.
• Assist updating project change trackers for design changes and cost impact.
• Adapt/update drawings to reflect design changes accurately.
• Schedule Structural/Architectural/M&E works from start to finish.
• Coordinate with Architect, Structural and M&E staff to resolve issues.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and cooperation on site.
