ob Description: Mechanical Technician – Oil Terminal Industry
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of
mechanical systems, including compressors, pumps (positive
displacement, centrifugal, diaphragm), drum filling equipment, HVAC,
truck loading equipment, and fire-fighting systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, ensuring minimal downtime
and maximum operational efficiency.
- Maintain and inspect nitrogen generators, air receivers, dryers, and
filters.
- Handle pump sizing and selection based on operational requirements.
- Maintain and monitor pump performance, identifying areas for
optimization.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of terminal pipelines,
ensuring safe, efficient operation.
- Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing on pipelines and hoses.
- Maintain, inspect, and repair fire-fighting equipment and systems,
including pumps, hoses, and related infrastructure.
- Perform regular tests and ensure the readiness of fire-fighting
equipment for emergency situations.
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems throughout the admin building &
Operations building. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to air
conditioning units, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
- Interpret P&ID and PFD to troubleshoot mechanical systems and
ensure all systems are following technical specifications.
- Provide input into the design and operational optimization of
mechanical systems based on P&ID and PFD analysis.
- Maintain and troubleshoot refrigeration systems used within terminal
operations, ensuring they meet operational requirements and safety
standards.
- Assist in the fabrication and construction of piping, structural works,
and mechanical systems as required by maintenance or project teams.
- Perform welding, cutting, and assembly of components as needed,
ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
- Support the maintenance and operation of earthing and cathodic
protection systems, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory
standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical grounding and
corrosion prevention systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities,
repairs, and modifications to mechanical systems.
- Provide detailed reports on system performance, equipment condition,
and any required corrective actions.
- In-depth understanding of industrial safety practices and regulatory
requirements.
