Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting seeks a Telecom Engineer to lead the preparation, review, and coordination of telecommunication deliverables for onshore oil & gas projects during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.

The role demands expertise in system architecture, fiber optic networks, CCTV, PAGA, access control, and LAN/WAN, with strong coordination across disciplines and adherence to international standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 6–12 years of experience in telecommunications engineering for onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review telecommunications deliverables including system architecture drawings, network layouts, equipment specifications, cable schedules and MTOs.
• Design telecom systems for onshore oil & gas facilities including Fibre Optic Networks, Structured Cabling, CCTV, PAGA, Access Control, Radio, Microwave and LAN/WAN.
• Review project specifications, client standards, vendor documentation and multidisciplinary inputs.
• Prepare telecom design calculations, equipment sizing, network architecture and layouts.
• Coordinate telecom activities with electrical, instrumentation, process, mechanical, piping and civil/structural disciplines for seamless integration.
• Prepare technical requisitions, equipment specifications and support procurement including bid evaluations and vendor reviews.
• Review telecom equipment layouts, fiber designs and system interfaces; participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID and constructability workshops.
• Ensure telecom systems meet operational, reliability, cybersecurity and maintenance requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field

6–12 years of experience in telecommunications engineering for onshore oil & gas projects
