Job summary

Petrofac is seeking a Deputy Manager – Project Control based in Sharjah, UAE, to lead project control activities for ongoing oil and gas projects. The role focuses on developing and implementing schedules, progress measurement tools, and reporting mechanisms to ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has 15–20 years in oil and gas, with strong HO and site planning experience, and a proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex project control processes.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineer with 15–20 years of oil and gas project experience.
• Experience in HO & Site planning.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems and procedures for project control functions on project onset and as required by the client to facilitate monitoring.
• Determine staffing requirements based on workload and resource allocation.
• Lead the project planning team to develop, implement and maintain project controls procedures, schedules (level 1-4) and reporting systems.
• Prepare progress measurement systems such as manpower histograms and S-curves for periodic review.
• Monitor progress via weekly/monthly reports and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Coordinate internal reviews and client approvals of schedules, progress and reporting.
• Keep senior management apprised of progress and areas needing attention for schedule adherence.
• Ensure field project controls documents are developed and interfaced with engineering and procurement.
• Conduct diagnostic studies to compare actuals with plan and formulate action plans.
• Carry out schedule risk analysis and propose mitigation actions.
• Contribute to department development and continuous improvement activities.
