Job summary

Jing Hau in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Oenologist to oversee wine production from grape to bottle, applying viticulture and oenology techniques while maintaining a keen palate for tasting.

You will lead tastings, ensure quality control, and collaborate with the winemaking team to develop blends. Training junior staff will be part of your role as you stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Oenology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of wine production experience.
• Strong knowledge of viticulture and oenology techniques.
• Excellent palate for tasting and evaluating wines.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Good communication skills in English (Urdu or Swahili a plus).
• Must be able to work without accommodation provided (local candidates preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of wine production, from grape selection and harvesting to fermentation and aging.
• Ensure quality control throughout the production process.
• Conduct regular tastings and evaluations to maintain consistent quality of our wines.
• Collaborate with the winemaking team to develop new blends and improve existing products.
• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve our winemaking process.
• Train and supervise junior staff members in oenology practices.
