Job summary

Royal Health Group AE in Abu Dhabi seeks a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to support students with developmental, physical, and emotional challenges in the school setting. You will work with teachers, parents and healthcare professionals to tailor therapy plans and monitor progress to promote inclusion and independence.

A valid pediatric license and school-based experience are required; English fluency is essential for collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy.
• Active license eligibility to practice in Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD).
• Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, preferably in schools.
• Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and common pediatric conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' abilities and needs through observation, tests and consultations.
• Develop individualized therapy plans to improve motor skills, sensory integration, and daily functioning in schools.
• Provide one-on-one or group therapy for motor skills, sensory processing and self-regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt classrooms and tasks to support learning and participation.
• Train staff and parents on strategies to help students achieve goals.
• Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings to provide input on progress and goals.
• Promote inclusive practices and help students gain independence in academic and social settings.
• Stay updated on best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.

The Occupational Therapist will support students with developmental, physical, and emotional challenges, enabling them to participate effectively in school activities and achieve their academic and social potential. The role involves working closely with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess students' abilities, challenges, and needs through observation, standardized tests, and consultations.
• Develop individualized therapy plans to improve motor skills, sensory integration, and daily functioning in the school environment.
• Provide one-on-one or group therapy sessions to address fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify classroom environments and tasks to support students' learning and participation.
• Train school staff and parents on strategies and techniques to assist students in achieving their goals.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
• Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide input on student progress and future goals.
• Promote inclusive practices and help students develop independence in academic and social settings.
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid professional license or eligibility to obtain a license in Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD).
• Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and common childhood conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and school staff effectively.
