Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to identify student strengths, developmental needs, and functional barriers to learning.
• Assess fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive skills, classroom participation, and daily school-based functional abilities.
• Develop individualized therapy goals and intervention plans based on student assessments and educational needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, inclusion teams, and other professionals to support Individualized Education Program planning and implementation.
• Deliver targeted therapy sessions that improve handwriting readiness, coordination, self-care skills, classroom access, attention, and sensory regulation.
• Provide practical strategies to teachers and classroom teams so students can participate more confidently in daily school routines.
• Monitor student progress, maintain therapy records, and adjust interventions based on measurable outcomes.
• Recommend adaptive tools, classroom modifications, assistive resources, and environmental adjustments where needed.
• Support students with disabilities, developmental delays, sensory needs, motor challenges, and learning-related functional difficulties.
• Participate in student review meetings, parent consultations, case discussions, and multidisciplinary planning.
• Promote inclusive education by helping students build independence, confidence, and meaningful engagement in school activities.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and professional therapy standards at all times.

Ideal Profile

• Degree in Occupational Therapy or a recognised equivalent qualification.
• Professional experience supporting children or students with developmental delays, disabilities, sensory processing needs, or school-based functional challenges.
• Strong understanding of occupational therapy assessment, intervention planning, IEP support, and inclusive education practice.
• Ability to work closely with teachers, parents, therapists, school leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Skilled in developing therapy goals that are practical, measurable, and aligned with student learning needs.
• Knowledge of fine motor development, gross motor coordination, sensory integration, adaptive strategies, and functional independence.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain therapy recommendations clearly to families and school staff.
• Patient, compassionate, organized, and committed to student wellbeing and progress.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and confidential student records.
