Job summary

EDGE, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is a leading advanced technology group supporting defence and critical infrastructure. Beacon Red seeks a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure for classified environments in Abu Dhabi.

You will manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure gateways, ensuring segmentation and compliance. Role requires hands-on experience with STIGs/NIST/CIS benchmarks, TCP/IP, and secure communications

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of STIGs, NIST SP 800-53, and CIS Benchmarks applied to network devices and systems.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, 802.1q, firewall, VPN, and segmentation expertise.
• Experience with network security monitoring, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Understanding of air-gapped environments, least privilege, and need-to-know principles.
• Knowledge of PKI, TLS, IPsec, and secure communications.
• Experience with security-hardening standards and secure configurations for network devices and OSes.
• Preferred defense/government/critical infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Design secure network architectures for classified environments.
• Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, gateways, routers and switches.
• Implement segmentation, access controls, and secure information flow.
• Support air-gapped/restricted networks and controlled interfaces.
• Monitor traffic and security events; assist incident detection and response.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, configuration reviews, and remediation.
• Maintain diagrams, documentation, and security baselines.
• Support security audits, accreditation, and compliance activities.
• Apply privileged-access controls and cryptographic measures.
