Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced senior supervisor to lead welding, fabrication, and piping activities in an oil & gas or petrochemical environment. The role requires interpreting complex fabrication drawings and ensuring adherence to ASME, ASTM, AWS, and API standards.

The successful candidate will oversee vessel and component maintenance, coordinate NDT testing with QC, and manage shutdowns and safety procedures with a strong emphasis on quality and traceability.

Qualifications

• 3-year Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.
• NDT Level II certification in at least 3 relevant disciplines – Mandatory.
• Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry experience.
• Strong welding, fabrication, and piping supervision experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Good knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AWS, API, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Knowledge of fabrication and machine shop equipment and operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise welding, fabrication, piping installation, and modification works.
• Lead and allocate work to welders, fabricators, and helpers.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of vessels, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, coolers, and valves.
• Interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, ANSI, ASTM, AWS, and API codes and standards.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control team for NDT inspections and welding joint testing.
• Plan and supervise shutdown, repair, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper use of workshop and machine shop equipment.
• Maintain quality, material traceability, tools, and workshop records.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with HSE, PTW, PPE, and company safety procedures.
