Job summary

Anotech in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior Naval Architect to design, analyze, and optimize complex marine vessels, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance. You will lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through execution, mentor junior engineers, and present proposals to stakeholders while staying current with industry changes.

Requires a Master’s in Naval Architecture and 12–20 years of experience; proficiency in MOSES, ANSYS, CAD; strong hydrodynamics and FEA/CFD

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• 12–20 years of experience in naval architecture or marine design.
• Strong knowledge of hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and stability.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the design phases of marine vessels, including hull form optimization and structural analysis using advanced modeling software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop design specifications and ensure safety/regulatory alignment.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and propose improvements.
• Mentor junior naval architects and engineers, fostering innovation and learning within the team.
• Present design proposals and project updates to stakeholders with clear technical communication.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and regulatory changes, applying best practices in ship design.

Job description

• In this key role, you will leverage your expertise in naval architecture and marine engineering to design, analyze, and optimize complex marine vessels, ensuring they meet both performance and regulatory standards.
• Your strategic insights and leadership will guide projects from conception through to execution, significantly impacting our design capabilities and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• You will support Naval Architectural discipline studies at early stages of projects, help to develop offshore and onshore energy infrastructure solutions.
• You will collaborate with experienced engineers within our strong multi-discipline engineering team, developing innovative solutions for greenfield and brownfield energy projects, such as:
• Architect and lead the design phases of marine vessels, including hull form optimization and structural analysis using advanced modeling software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive design specifications and ensure alignment with safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Mentor junior naval architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the design team.
• Present design proposals and project updates to stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of industry advancements and regulatory changes, implementing best practices in ship design and engineering methodologies.

Required Qualifications and Prerequisites

• Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• 12-20 years of experience in naval architecture or marine design, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
• Deep knowledge of hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and stability criteria for marine vessels.
• Proficiency and hands-on experience in design and analysis software such as MOSES, ANSYS or Equivalent.
• Expertise in CAD software for marine design and structural analysis.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies to oversee complex projects.
