Job summary

Al Tayer Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Merchandiser/Planner to execute the division's brand merchandise strategy through seasonal and yearly product and location sales plans, including forecasting and allocation to maximise sales and gross margin.

Key responsibilities include delivering category sales and gross margin to plan, participating in annual brand budgets, monitoring performance, and coordinating with Buying teams and stores to optimize inventory and pricing

Qualifications

• University degree in any discipline.
• 3-5 years experience in planning for large scale retail operations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate with management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver category sales, gross margin and sell-through performance to plan.
• Participate in annual sales budgets and forecasts for specific brands.
• Monitor performance against plan and take actions to maximize sales and margins.
• Identify and evaluate sales and gross margin opportunities at department level.
• Review markdown activity to reduce stock and maximize profit.
• Communicate trading issues and forecasts with actions to senior management and Buying team.
• Implement departmental strategy with Buying team.
• Develop merchandise plans from market trends and historical data.
• Monitor inventories to plan and forecast, manage replenishments.
• Identify slow and best sellers and react to maximize sales.
• Coordinate inter-store transfers and distribution to meet store targets.
• Maintain OTB and forward buys aligned with inventory targets.
• Provide feedback on sales results, vendors, and delivery issues.
• Build relationships with suppliers and manage shipments and allocations.
