Job summary

ICONIX Special Projects LLC is seeking an accomplished MEP Design Lead in Dubai to drive the mechanical scope for luxury fit-out projects. The role requires preparing and reviewing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical packages, coordinating with consultants, and leading authority submissions in the UAE and KSA.

Applicants should have 7-10+ years in MEP design, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and strong knowledge of UAE and GCC regulations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree required.
• 7-10+ years of experience in MEP design.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD, Revit and MEP design tools.
• Ability to travel within the GCC region.
• Luxury and high-end fit-out background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review MEP design packages for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting and electrical.
• Deliver the mechanical scope for F B units including kitchen exhaust and make-up air.
• Coordinate with consultants, landlords and global brand teams.
• Lead authority submissions and secure approvals across UAE and KSA.
• Ensure compliance with GCC regulations and mall guidelines.
• Drive value engineering while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review MEP design packages HVAC Plumbing Fire Fighting Electrical Deliver the mechanical scope for F B units - kitchen exhaust and make-up air grease duct routing hood suppression interface and smoke extraction and management - coordinating with the appointed kitchen consultant equipment layout excluded Proven authority submission and approval experience across the UAE Dubai Municipality DCD ADM ADCD Sharjah and Northern Emirates Civil Defence and KSA Baladiya Balady General Directorate of Civil Defence Working knowledge of the UAE Fire Life Safety Code the Saudi Building Code SBC 501 601 801 SFDA food-facility requirements NFPA 96 and ASHRAE ventilation standards UAE municipality engineer membership or eligibility an advantage Saudi Council of Engineers SCE membership or eligibility an advantage Lead authority submissions and secure approvals across the UAE and KSA Coordinate with architects landlords consultants and global brand teams Ensure full compliance with GCC regulations and mall guidelines Support technical integration during design construction stages Drive value engineering while maintaining high standards
