Job summary

Middle East Investment and Management Consultancy is seeking a Facility Engineer MEP in the UAE to oversee operation, maintenance, and improvement of critical MEP systems, ensuring safety and code compliance.

The role involves coordinating with contractors and internal teams, managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and energy management to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems is required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities management or MEP operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, fire safety, water systems).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, local regulations).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations and preventive maintenance of all MEP systems.
  • Diagnose faults and coordinate corrective actions for MEP devices.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Maintain records and generate reports on performance and costs.
  • Monitor energy usage and help implement energy-saving measures.

Job description

Job Summary

The Facility Engineer MEP is responsible for the operation maintenance and improvement of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems within the facility This role ensures that all MEP systems are functioning efficiently safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards The Facility Engineer will coordinate with contractors vendors and internal teams to oversee inspections preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repair activities

Key Responsibilities
  • Operation Maintenance Supervise and coordinate the daily operations and preventive maintenance of all MEP systems including HVAC fire protection water supply drainage electrical systems and backup generators Ensure uninterrupted functioning of critical services such as air conditioning lighting power distribution and water systems
  • Troubleshooting Repair Diagnose faults in mechanical electrical and plumbing systems and recommend implement corrective actions Respond promptly to emergency calls related to system failures or malfunctions
  • Compliance Safety Ensure all MEP systems comply with local codes safety standards and environmental regulations Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
  • Vendor Contractor Coordination Manage third-party service providers and contractors for maintenance repair or upgrade works Review technical submittals drawings and method statements related to MEP systems
  • Documentation Reporting Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities service logs equipment manuals and inspection reports Generate reports on system performance downtime maintenance costs and improvement plans
  • Energy Management Monitor energy and utility usage recommend improvements to increase energy efficiency and reduce operating costs Assist in the planning and implementation of energy-saving initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities management or MEP operations, preferably in commercial or industrial buildings.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, fire safety, water systems).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA, local regulations).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies after hours if required.
  • Preferred Certifications:Certified Facility Manager (CFM) – optionalLEED Accreditation – optionalSafety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
