Job summary

Drydocks World in Dubai seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment for shiplifts and related systems. The role emphasizes safe operation, adherence to procedures, and timely reporting of faults.

Responsibilities include overseeing electrical and hydraulic subsystems, coordinating with the workforce, and ensuring housekeeping standards on site at all times. Prior shipyard or ship repair experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, Hydraulic with Electrical and Electronics experience.
• Experience in maintenance of pumps, compressors, and gear box.
• Knowledge of lifting equipment and lifting gears.
• Electro-Mechanical with Soft Ware Experience (PLC).
• Knowledge and Experience in ship repair and new building yard.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline related project and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and troubleshooting of Syncrolift and Rexroth shiplifts, STC mechanical system.
• Power units electro mechanical system repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Drive units, shiplift & transfer carriage control unit maintenance.
• Maintenance & repair of gear box, winches and control system of shiplifts.
• Man power allocation & leading workforce.
• Maintain housekeeping of work place at required standards.
• Ensure appropriate use of tools and machinery, preventing excessive wear and tear and breakdowns.
• Report any malfunction of tools and machinery to immediate supervisor.
