Job summary

ADNOC Group in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a Mechanical Technician - Plant Maintenance to perform preventive, corrective, and overhaul maintenance of critical plant equipment across utility systems.

You will diagnose faults, participate in major overhauls, document work, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring safety and compliance with permit-to-work and HSE requirements.

Qualifications

• Practical mechanical maintenance experience within oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, utilities or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of rotating and static equipment, pumps, compressors, and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience diagnosing faults, measuring clearances, and verifying performance after maintenance.
• Experience working under permit-to-work systems and coordinating maintenance in live facilities.
• Ability to supervise or guide technicians and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, breakdown, and shutdown mechanical maintenance on plant equipment.
• Maintain rotating and static equipment per procedures and technical requirements.
• Obtain and comply with work permits from Area Authority before starting maintenance.
• Review work orders, confirm scope and priorities, and plan resources.
• Allocate tasks to technicians and support a safe, compliant maintenance execution.
• Participate in complex troubleshooting and fault diagnosis as needed.
• Inspect completed work and verify workmanship before returning equipment to service.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Carry out scheduled routine and preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain records supporting maintenance history and equipment reliability.
