Job summary

DAPIN, a leader in Oil & Gas engineering, seeks a Mechanical Lead for its Abu Dhabi offices to steer the mechanical discipline across basic, detail engineering, construction and commissioning stages.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with specialization in rotating equipment, piping or project management, 12+ years of EPC/Oil & Gas experience, and hands-on expertise with AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D and Navisworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization and training in international standards and ADNOC requirements.
• Minimum 12 years in EPC Oil & Gas or petrochemical projects.
• Experience as Senior Engineer/Mechanical Lead managing design, supervision, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Experience coordinating ADNOC Onshore/Offshore EPC projects in UAE and meeting ADNOC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical discipline during basic, detail engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Review and approve drawings, piping calculations, rotating equipment, valves, and HVAC.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO and ADNOC specs.
• Coordinate with engineering, projects, procurement, and construction for integration.
• Manage technical interfaces with contractors, vendors and teams.
• Support mechanical MRRs, vendor docs reviews, and technical evaluations.
• Participate in progress meetings and closure of client comments.
• Ensure all activities comply with quality, safety, and QHSE requirements.
• Implement corporate procedures and standards.
• Other activities inherent to the position.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, with specialization in Rotating Equipment Engineering, Piping, Energy, or Engineering Project Management, as well as complementary training in international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and ADNOC requirements.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in EPC Oil & Gas or petrochemical projects.
• Proven experience as Senior Engineer and/or Mechanical Lead, leading the design, supervision, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, piping, valves, and rotating systems.
• Participation in at least one ADNOC Onshore or Offshore EPC project in UAE, complying with its standards and technical requirements.
• Effective coordination of multidisciplinary teams and management of complex mechanical deliverables.
• Management of technical interfaces with other disciplines, contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and ADNOC standards.
• Hands-on experience with design software, including AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D, and Navisworks
• Advanced English level C1 or higher.

EPC Projects - ADNOC

• Lead the mechanical discipline during the basic engineering, detail engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Review and approve mechanical drawings, piping calculations, rotating equipment, valves, pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and ADNOC specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering, projects, procurement, and construction to correctly integrate mechanical systems with other disciplines.
• Manage technical interfaces with contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support in the preparation of mechanical material requisitions, technical evaluations, and review of vendor documentation.
• Participate in technical meetings with manufacturers and follow-up of mechanical packages.
• Manage technical queries, deviations, and mechanical engineering changes during the project cycle.
• Participate in progress meetings and technical reviews with the client, ensuring timely closure of comments.
• Ensure that all mechanical activities comply with project quality, safety, and QHSE requirements.
• Implement applicable corporate procedures and standards.
• Other activities inherent to the position.
