Job Title – Mechanical Engineer (Civil Construction) - MEP/HVAC
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to oversee and coordinate mechanical works for civil construction and building projects. The role involves managing the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineering & Project Execution
  • Supervise mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, water supply, drainage, and other building services systems.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations comply with approved designs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Site Supervision & Coordination
  • Monitor day-to-day site activities related to mechanical works.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and compliance.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support during construction.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of installed systems.
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
  • Support QA/QC activities and ensure timely closure of observations.
Planning & Progress Monitoring
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion of mechanical activities.
  • Track progress against planned milestones and report any delays.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and project updates.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery schedules for mechanical materials and equipment.
Testing & Commissioning
  • Supervise testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test results and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with consultants and authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Support project handover and closeout activities.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Promote safe work practices across all mechanical activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Address safety concerns and implement corrective actions when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within civil construction, building, infrastructure, or real estate development projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems.
  • Experience working on UAE construction projects is preferred.
