Job summary

Whizz HR seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in HVAC, Plumbing and Firefighting for building services projects in the UAE. You will design, coordinate and submit mechanical systems for residential, commercial, hospitality and high-rise developments to meet UAE regulations and international standards.

Responsibilities include preparing drawings and calculations, coordinating with other disciplines, producing concept to detailed designs, and reviewing submissions while ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4–10 years of experience in MEP/building services consultancy; UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Auto CAD, Revit MEP, HAP/Elite or equivalent, pipe sizing and hydraulic calculation software, and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and applicable codes (UAE, ASHRAE, NFPA).

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical design drawings and calculations for HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Develop concept, schematic, detailed, and authority submission designs.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations, international codes, and project requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor proposals.
• Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
• Provide technical support during project execution and construction stages.
• Support timely delivery of projects while maintaining design quality and coordination standards.
• Utilize design software such as Auto CAD, Revit MEP, and relevant engineering tools for project development.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations; UAE Civil Defense; ASHRAE standards; NFPA; IPC/UPC; and local plumbing codes.

Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience Minimum 4–10 years of experience in MEP / building services consultancy. UAE/GCC consultancy experience preferred. Experience in residential towers, villas, commercial buildings, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

Technical Skills Proficiency in: Auto CAD, Revit MEP, HAP / Elite / equivalent HVAC software, pipe sizing and hydraulic calculation software, Microsoft Office.

Good understanding of: HVAC design principles; UAE authority requirements; ASHRAE standards; NFPA codes; Energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.
