Job summary

China State Construction Middle East (CSCEC ME) is recruiting a Material Engineer to join our Dubai team for a large scale high-rise tower project. You will manage material submittals, obtain approvals to applicable standards, and coordinate on-site material testing with QA/QC, consultants and contractors.

You will maintain project material files, prepare daily diaries and reports, verify that only approved materials are used, and review submittals against BOQ and specifications to avoid

Responsibilities

• Prepare material submittals and obtain approvals according to standards and project specs.
• Serve as focal point for scheduling and control of construction materials at the job site.
• Coordinate work of consultants/contractors for material testing.
• Maintain office files related to the project, material inspections and daily diaries.
• Prepare daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract.
• Verify that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.
• Identify conflicts or issues with materials and report to QAQC with proposed solutions.
• Collect and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and related information.
• Support development of quality control reports and procedures.
• Prepare plan for on-site testing of materials in coordination with QAQC and Construction teams.
• Check delivered materials are as approved and properly stored.
• Prepare and update the project finishing schedule with all material information per approved submittals and related RFIs.
• Review sub-contractor material submittals as per BOQ and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to QAQC team with proposed solution.
• Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
• Prepare plan for the onsite testing of materials in coordination with the QAQC Department and Construction team.
• Check material delivered are as approved and properly stored.
• Prepare and update the project finishing schedule with all material information which as per approved material submittal and related RFI and letter.
• Review the Sub-contractor's material submittal as per BOQ and specification
